It was really, really cold on Saturday.

OK, it’s possible that picture is a bit of an exaggeration, but that’s what it felt like. Low single digits and snow, it was not a day to do much venturing out. It was a pretty uneventful day, so this will be another pretty brief post.

We did have reservations for brunch at a small local place, and did get out for that. I worried we’d have to go out on Tauntaun, but luckily the car was just fine.

Brunch was close by, quick and delicious, and afterward we pretty much scurried back home to put on the fire, get under some blankets and take it easy.

While hanging out out home, Amelia took it upon herself to do some training with the dogs. She watches and shadows Erin when she does it, and she definitely has her mom’s knack with animals.

Other than that, we basically hung out with Auntie Kallin, relaxed and I made a nice chicken piccata for dinner. We felt a little bad that her last full day in town was so cold and we couldn’t comfortably do a whole lot, but it was kind of nice taking it easy, too. Sitting by the fire and reading is what cold, snowy days are all about.
